Stewart Nachmias (Stewzo) began as a ventriloquist at the age of 8, winning a talent contest in grade school using a puppet of his own making. At 14 he became a professional puppeteer, and has since performed at New York's Lincoln Center, The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Ensemble Studio Theater, The Westport Country Playhouse, and on Nickelodeon Television. He has worked and toured with the internationally known puppet troupe Poko Puppets for more than 20 years. As owner of Entertain-o-grams, Inc. for 15 years, Stewart has booked out dozens of clowns, magicians, jugglers, as well as his own puppet variety show at hundreds of venues in the tri-state area. As well as performing for children, Stewart frequently partners with his ventriloquist puppet Frank and has appeared at comedy clubs around the city such as Stand-Up NY and The Comic Strip. He has also appeared with the musical group The Clamtones performing at high-profile Gotham venues including The Bitter End, Westbeth Theater Center, Tompkins Square Arts Festival, and more. He also designs and builds his own puppets.
